POEMS syndrome

- rare multisystem disease that occurs in the setting of plasma cell dyscrasia

- P - polyneuropathy (symmetrical and distal)

  O - organomegaly (liver, spleen and lymph nodes)

  E - endocrinopathy

  M - monoclonal gammopathy

  S - skin abnormalities (hyperpigmentation and hypertrichosis)
