Paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration

- antineuronal antibodies (anti-Yo, anti-Hu, anti-Ri) against Purkinje cell of cerebellum leading to cerebellar syndrome
- associated with breast/gynaecological malignancy in 85%
- anti-Hu :small cell lung CA, neuroblastoma, prostatic CA. Associated with sensory neuropathy and encephalomyelitis
- anti-Yo: ovarian, breast and lung CA

- stiff person syndrome occurs as a paraneoplastic phenomenon, anti GAD antibodies are found.
